Growing old or infirm is something no-one likes to think about, but is a reality for most of us. You can help your family support you, should this happen, by contacting us to prepare a Power of Attorney.
Like a Will, everyone should have one, particularly those who engage in potentially hazardous occupations and pursuits.
If you do not have a Power of Attorney in place, your family may have to apply to the Sheriff Court for a Guardianship Order in the event of incapacity. That can be a more complex and distressing procedure.
Thinking about and planning for the future now will prevent distress later.
